Over the past three years, we have been fortunate to have Elizabeth Dinh, a news anchor for KOIN 6, interview over 30 vendors at our farmers markets as part of her Northwest Grown series. In this weekly series, Elizabeth shares stories about farmers, small business owners, chefs, and producers with direct connections to Portland and the Pacific Northwest.
Elizabeth and her cameraperson have endured the frigid weather of December at PSU Farmers Market and a 100-degree heat wave in August at King Farmers Market as well as a balmy day under the canopy of elm trees at Shemanski Park Farmers Market to speak to dozens of our amazing regional food growers and producers. See those spotlights here!
And to see the ones she has done recently:
- La Mancha Ranch and Orchard: Local farm has fun with organic growing methods and nod to Don Quixote
- Lady Lane Farm: “Our milk is special” : Lady-Lane Farm produces unique dairy products
- Brothy Bone Broth: Serendipity: Portlander turns ‘gut health thing’ into Brothy
- Amza Superfoods: Tibetan culture, Oregon crops combine for ‘superfood’
- Cottage Hill Farm: Goat milk from ‘Sober babies’ comes in flavors
- Native Candies: Salmon is “candy to Natives” in Pacific Northwest
- Carioca Bowls: Açaí Bowls serve as ‘performance food
Thanks again to Elizabeth and her team – we appreciate you showing Portland and the world how unique our local food system is!
