Earth Day 2025

April 19 @ 8:30 am 2:00 pm

Join us at PSU Farmers Market for a day dedicated to local agriculture, sustainability, biodiversity, and building community that can lead to a better tomorrow for our planet.

Enjoy activities for all ages, brought to you by our community groups, partners, and vendors:

Food Waves : Join PFM vendor and farmer Matt Brown to learn how to feed your soil for healthy plants! Learn techniques sustainable farmers use to ensure soil health in your home garden.

Rae Selling Berry Seed Bank: See a demonstration on how to grow native plants from seeds! Tools, materials, seeds, and professional guidance on horticultural methods will be provided. Gain a deeper interconnection with plants from our biodiverse region.

Sustainability at PSU: Participate in a trivia game to get a chance to win PSU merchandise! Explore sustainable planning projects on the PSU campus and discover resources encouraging a sustainable mindset in PSU culture.

Urban Gleaners: Spin the “Rescue the Food” Wheel and explore ideas and practical solutions for common food waste issues.

And for kids, there’s Storytime at the Market from 11 am – 12 pm. Portland-based artist Latoya Lovely will read stories exploring how art supports the environment and builds community, including How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow and Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood.

This Storytime event is geared toward pre-K through early elementary students. Children must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the event.

Storytime at the Market is presented by the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at PSU.

Come out, support local farms & food producers, and celebrate our planet while learning and having fun!
