2017 Country Financial Bag Contest Winner Announced

2017 First Place Winner Claire Williams
COUNTRY Financial® has chosen a winner for the 2017 Portland Farmers Market bag design contest.
Out of nearly 200 entries, Claire Williams, a senior at Lakeridge High School, was selected as the winning artist of the seventh annual reusable bag design contest. Williams’ received a $1,000 scholarship from COUNTRY Financial and her artwork featured on thousands of canvas bags.

2017 Runner Up Lea Brodala
The winning design beautifully depicts the theme “Eat Fresh. Eat Local” with local produce and farmers market products beneath a rooster and farmland in the distance.
The design was unveiled at a special ceremony at the Portland State University Farmers Market on Saturday, June 3. The two runner-ups,Emily Thomas, 10th grade, Wilson High School and Lea Brodala, 11th grade, Scappoose High School, each received a $500 scholarship for their entries. The People’sChoice winner, Trent Nesbitt, 9th grade, Wilson High School received a $250 scholarship.
